View Lot 83 A reproduction gilt brass fire screen with acanthus leaf decoration and mesh centre panel, also an oak coal scuttle with applied brass panel to the front and a brass fender (3). View details Estimate£20 - £40Winning Bid£85StatusCLOSED Condition ReportFire screen: The mesh panel is a bit loose in the top right corner, where there are two of the retaining screws missing. Slightly misshapen to the left hand side. Otherwise appears ok. Fender: Also appears in fairly good order, apart from excess polish to some of the detail in the corners and separate mountings. Coal Scuttle: Well worn with large areas of the stain faded away to the top surface. The handle is loose. The shovel has scraped the side of the scuttle itself. One of the hinges is missing a retaining screw and the other hinge has a split and the peg is sticking out. It has the original liner. The majority of the wear appears commensurate with age and use.
