Footnote: The vendor's father was stationed in North East Germany at the end of the war, in the vicinity of Hermann Göring's hunting estate, which was in the Schorfheide Forest in the North of Brandenburg. He returned from his posting there with this dagger and it has remained in the family ever since. Further light surface wear visible throughout commensurate with use and age.
