Description:

GEORGE JAMISON, CHARING CROSS, LONDON; a George III and later bracket clock, the arched silvered dial set with Roman numerals, lower calendar dial and 'Slow/Fast' dial to the arch, the glazed door with pierced floral corners, brass acorn finials and brass swing handle, glazed panels to the sides and back, the back plate signed 'Geo Jamison Charing Cross London' and there is a chased border of half crescents to the back plate, the fusée movement with possibly later servicing and parts, striking on a bell, height to top of handle 51cm, with pendulum, winding key and door lock key.

Condition Report:
There is some cracking to the veneer on the front of the door. The brass finials are in good condition. The right hand viewing window has a crack which is about 4cm long on the glass, but the crack is also to the veneer as well. The movement has been serviced and overhauled at some point as there is a label to the interior 'E. E. Allan For Repairs, High Street' Ramsgate'. There are splits in the woodwork and small, insignificant areas of missing veneer. We have briefly wound the clock and it does tick over when the pendulum is set in motion. We have not fully tested the mechanism and this clock is sold with no guarantee of working order. Nor have have we tested the striking function.
