Lot 29 of 966: A late 17th/early 18th century carved oak high back hall or side chair, the splat carved with a large vertical feather, the side uprights and domed top rail carved with repeating flower heads and scrolls, the solid seat above turned front supports united with turned front stretcher and double side stretchers, on pad feet, also a late 18th century side chair with vase-shaped splat, shaped top rail, solid seat and square supports united with straight stretchers (2).

Description:

A late 17th/early 18th century carved oak high back hall or side chair, the splat carved with a large vertical feather, the side uprights and domed top rail carved with repeating flower heads and scrolls, the solid seat above turned front supports united with turned front stretcher and double side stretchers, on pad feet, also a late 18th century side chair with vase-shaped splat, shaped top rail, solid seat and square supports united with straight stretchers (2).

Condition Report:
These were found in a Lancashire barn, they are sturdy but have wear and deterioration to the bottom of the supports, there may have be slight repair and possible alteration over the years
