Lot 3 of 944: A good George III painted mahogany bureau by James Phillips & Son of Union Street, Bristol, on oak carcass, the fall decorated with swags and festoons around a central reserve, painted with putti, opens to reveal a satinwood and painted fitted interior supported on four graduated drawers, surmounting ogee bracket feet, also decorated with swags and festoons and with further painting to the sides, height 107.5cm.

A good George III painted mahogany bureau by James Phillips & Son of Union Street, Bristol, on oak carcass, the fall decorated with swags and festoons around a central reserve, painted with putti, opens to reveal a satinwood and painted fitted interior supported on four graduated drawers, surmounting ogee bracket feet, also decorated with swags and festoons and with further painting to the sides, height 107.5cm.

Condition Report:
Missing elements on the loper present. There is a label on the inside right of the top drawer. Everything else suggests George III c1780.
